Located just a short bus ride away from Uzu, Kumamoto, it's the perfect destination for a day of relaxation and rejuvenation. Getting to Kurokawa Onsen is a breeze. We hopped on a bus from the Station and enjoyed a scenic journey that took about an hour.

As we approached the town, we couldn't help but be captivated by its charm and tranquility. Once we arrived, we were greeted by the sight of numerous onsen bath houses scattered throughout the town. It was a tough decision to choose which ones to visit, but luckily, we discovered that there was a pass available for purchase. This pass allowed us to enjoy three different onsen of our choice. Since we were not comfortable with public bathing, we decided to opt for private baths instead.

We booked a private bath for three people at Ryokan Wakaba, and it turned out to be an incredible experience. The staff at Ryokan Wakaba were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel right at home. The private bath was a true oasis of relaxation, allowing us to unwind and soak away our worries. The serene atmosphere and the soothing hot spring water worked wonders for our tired bodies and stressed minds.

One of the highlights of staying at a ryokan in Kurokawa Onsen is the unlimited access to the bathhouse. If you choose to spend the night at one of the ryokans in the town, you can enjoy the onsen as many times as you like during your stay. It's a fantastic opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the healing powers of the hot springs. Aside from the onsen experience, Kurokawa Onsen also offers picturesque surroundings.

The town is nestled in a lush valley, surrounded by mountains and forests. Taking a stroll through the streets, you'll come across traditional Japanese buildings and charming shops selling local crafts and souvenirs. It's a wonderful place to immerse yourself in the rich culture and history of Japan.
